New President Elect

UKIO is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Emma Hyde as President Elect of the UKIO Congress.

Current UKIO President, Dr Rizwan Malik welcomes her:

We are delighted to welcome Dr Emma Hyde as President Elect for UKIO. Emma will take over the presidency following UKIO 2023. Having first joined the Working Party in 2021. She took over the role as the stream lead for education and workforce for the 2022 congress. Following that, she stepped up into the role of VP responsible for service optimisation, policy and QI; research; and education and workforce and is the driving force behind the research focus you have seen this year.

Emma is a hugely respected Diagnostic Radiographer, currently working as an Associate Professor in Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Derby. She spent 10 years working in clinical practice, specialising in CT and MRI scanning, before moving into education. As well as her university role, Emma is also Clinical Director of the Personalised Care Institute, which trains health and care staff in England to deliver personalised care. She is a member of the International Community of Practice for Person-Centred Practice, a member of the editorial board of the ‘Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences’, has recently co Guest-Edited a special issue of ‘Radiography’ dedicated to patient experience and patient voice, and is a member of the College of Radiographers (UK) Research Advisory Group.
