Pitch your project – research project funding from UKIO

As part of UKIO 2026, and its commitment to research, the Trustees of ROC (Radiology and Oncology Congresses) are offering up to four grants of £5K each to fund a research or service improvement project.

Applications are invited to be considered to present a project proposal at the UKIO Congress taking place in Liverpool on 8-10 June 2026. Shortlisted applicants will be expected to present to a panel in a session on Monday 8 June 2026. Each shortlisted applicant will have up to 5 minutes to present their proposal and will then take questions from the panel for up to a further 5 minutes. The awards will then be made in the plenary session on Wednesday 10 June 2026.

Applications will be accepted only from novice researchers. Applicants must be practicing medical or health care professionals (including trainees), and unfortunately students are not eligible. Applications may be for research or service improvement projects. Literature reviews are not eligible. Applicants must have their line manager’s authorisation to apply and have explored the steps required for any funds to be paid to their institution. Awardees will be expected to provide two reports during the year following the award being made – at the midpoint (December 2026) and at the end (June 2027).

Shortlisted applicants will be expected to register to attend UKIO 2026.

The deadline for applications is 23:59 on Monday 6 April 2026.
